The museum of Basque Pottery is also located in a rural enclave of great natural beauty, between the Natural Parks of Urkiola and Gorbeia and reservoirs that are in Araba.

The building is an old restored pottery belonging to Blanka Gómez de Segura that has been open to the public since 1993. Built in 1711, several generations of the Ortiz family from Zárate worked in this pottery. One of the most interesting activities at the Pottery Museum is a visit to the production workshop. Antzasti Euskaldunon Etxea Basque Traditional House

08

Antzasti Euskaldunon Etxea-Basque Traditional House offers an ethnographic experience focused on the concept of the house, ETXEA, a territory shared by all family members, with an unquestionably marked feminine meaning and permeable to the changes that occur in societies in which are located. Through a symbolic trip in the tram of Arratia we visit two contemporary but very different worlds, one belonging to traditional life and another to modernity. The visitor can enter each of the rooms of the homes of the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries belonging to these two environments: the ancestral Basque farmhouse and the modernity of industrial Bilbao. A time capsule that teaches through carefully decorated and contextualized environments the way of living, having fun and working in this period of our history. A guided audiovisual visit where to live a first-person experience and imbue our culture and traditions.

This museum is located southeast of Bizkaia, in a unique enclave, surrounded by one of the most characteristic mountain ranges of Euskal Herria, at the gates of the Urkiola Natural Park and in front of the Gorbea Natural Park, specifically in the municipality of Dima-Barrio Artaun. A representative place of Basque culture, where tradition and mythology remain latent. A scenario where to know and recognize our roots, enjoy nature feeling the orography of our landscapes and enjoy our cuisine.

Guided tours every day of the week - It is necessary to make an appointment at least one day in advance.
