SHEPHERD FOR A DAY.
The cheese factory.
Discover a trade that remains alive in Gorbeia. Sheep dogs able to guide a flock, sheep which provide milk for the unmistakable Gorbeia cheese and people who refuse to let such an important tradition die.
Come to one of our cheese factories, where you will be able to see the production process of the PDO Idiazabal Cheese and enjoy a tasting.
Furthermore, you will get to know the Latxa sheep – the indigenous breed of Euskadi – and learn the importance of the sheepdog of Gorbeia.
Includes a guided tour of the farm, with the possibility of attending a tasting and/or a cheese-making workshop. Visitors will also learn about flock care and see a demonstration of the skills of a sheepdog.

Traditional Basque Pottery
Handicrafts have been and continue to be many people's livelihood, above all in rural areas. In Gorbeia you'll have the chance to get to know a range of artisan trades alongside professionals devoted to their occupation.
Come into our workshop and you'll join our team of potters in the creation of true works of art. You'll get to grips with the whole production process before having your creation fired at temperatures close to a thousand degrees.
Includes residential handicrafts workshop, guided tour of pottery and basic item of Basque ceramics such as the katilu (mug).
